Kai is a photojournalist with a BA in both Journalism and Spanish from the University of Oregon. He was the Senior Photographer for the award-winning Daily Emerald Newspaper, where he led visual coverage, photographing NCAA Division I baseball. By the age of 24, he has been to 27 different countries across 5 continents. With work published in the New York Post and Sports Illustrated, he thrives in uncomfortable situations. From photographing the loud and sacred game of baseball in Japan to smoking cigars with baseball players from the Cuban national team, his global perspective and deep cultural understanding have allowed him to tell the unique stories the world has to offer at the intersection of sport and culture.

Kai has created a unique worldview through images that showcase humanity, culture, and the beauty of sports. Kai aims to tell powerful, thoughtful, and long-lasting stories that connect us all.
